Doom 3DO Version, schlechteste Version mit kleinster Auflösung und Framerate Problemen, Source Code, meiste Deko Gore (Atari Jaguar Engine Code) |
| |
- Rating NFO :
Many fans consider this to be the worst console port of Doom since it runs in a small screen at a low frame rate.
- original NFO kein Fullscreen Mode :
According to Rebecca Heineman, the reason the two largest screen sizes are locked behind cheat codes was to allow for compatibility with the 3DO's successor system, the Panasonic M2. Both the 3DO Company and Logicware had hoped that the faster processor of the M2 would allow the game to run faster and automatically enable the larger screen sizes if the game was running on the M2, but the system was eventually cancelled, so these plans never came to pass.
- original NFO 3DO Source Code :
On November 30, 2014, Rebecca Ann Heineman uploaded the full archive of the 3DO port of Doom. The license choosen by Heineman was the MIT License, and it only applies to the source code, not the assets. However, it should be noted that this engine is likely to be co-owned by id Software and the successor-in-interest to Art Data Interactive, who is currently unknown. On the other hand, there is a chance that the rights for the source code of the port went back to id Software. It all depends on the contracts made at the time, which are very likely to be lost.
