"Enclave" sollte ursprünglich ein Multiplayer-Shooter im futuristischen Gewand werden, ähnlich "Quake III Arena", und war in der Entwicklung schon weit gediehen; als Starbreeze aber die Ähnlichkeiten zwischen den beiden Spielen entdeckten, wurde das Konzept komplett umgekrempelt.
Die PC-Version von "Enclave" gehörte zu den ersten Spielen, die in Deutschland aus Angst vor Raubkopien nur auf der damals noch wenig verbreiteten DVD-ROM veröffentlicht wurden. In anderen EU-Ländern und den USA erschien sie nach wie vor auf CD-ROM.
Trivia:
Der Charakter "Knight" basiert auf Schauspieler Ralf Möller (Model / Motion Capturing).
