"Watch_Dogs" wurde auf der E3 von Ubisoft angekündigt. Das Spiel wird von Ubisoft Montréal entwickelt.
Spielszenen von dem Spiel wurden auf der E3 mit einem PC vorgeführt.
Ubisoft-CEO Yves Guillemot hat in einem Interview bestätigt, dass das Spiel 2013 für PC, Xbox 360 und PlayStation 3 erscheinen wird.
Im Oktober 2013 von Ubisoft auf das Frühjahr 2014 verschoben.
