Der ehemalige Creative Director von Vigil Games, Joe Madureira, sprach in einem Interview davon, was "Darksiders III" hätte werden sollen. So war die Rede von einem Vier-Spieler-Koop-Spiel mit allen vier Reitern als spielbare Charaktere, sowie dass das Spiel von der Technik der Next-Gen Konsolen von Sony und Microsoft hätte profitiert.
