Der DLC basiert inhaltlich auf dem Film-Reboot von 2010. Aus diesem Grund hat The Nightmare als einziger Killer keine Alternativ-Cosmetics neben seinem Standard-Look, da es sich um einen anderen Freddy Krueger als in der klassischen "A Nightmare on Elm Street"-Reihe handelt.
Obwohl Kyle Gallner, der im Film Quentin Smith gespielt hat, ausdrücklich den Wunsch äußerte, das Aussehen seines Alter Ego im Spiel an sein tatsächliches Äußeres anzupassen kam es bis dato (Stand 12/2020) nicht dazu. Über die Gründe, weshalb Quentin in "Dead by Daylight" im Gegensatz zu Freddy Krueger (dessen Design der von Jackie Earle Haley gespielten Filmfigur entspricht) nur bedingt Ähnlichkeit mit seinem Darsteller hat hielt sich Behaviour trotz wiederholtem Nachfragen seitens der Fans während ihrer Q&A Streams stets bedeckt und verwies lediglich auf "Vorstellungen seit...
