Hinweis:
Laut Biowares Community-Koordinator Chris Priestley wird "Dragon Age" nach massiven Kundenprotesten ohne die sonst EA-typische Online-Aktivierung ausgeliefert.
Die Spielsoftware ist zwar nach wie vor durch SecuROM 7 geschützt und erfordert einen Disc-Check beim Start des Spiels (inkl. CD-Key), DRM-Bestandteile sind jedoch nicht direkt enthalten.
Der Kopierschutz wird dem zahlenden Kunden durch die Hintertür aufgezwungen: Wer die Zusatzinhalte und den Download-Content nutzen möchte, muss das Spiel über das Internet registrieren und an einen EA-Account binden. |

Ein weiteres Fantasy-Rollenspielprojekt aus dem renommierten Hause Bioware. Laut Entwickler soll dieser Titel das Erbe von "Baldur's Gate" antreten.
Der Titel ist allerdings keine Lizenzumsetzung mehr, sondern in der von BioWare selbst entworfenen mittelalterlichen Welt "Ferelden" angesiedelt. Nach den Konsolen Rollenspielen "Jade Empire" und "Mass Effect" schneidet man damit auch den PC Titeln die kostspielige D&D Lizenzbasis ab und baut die Handlung in eine selbst entworfene und damit frei gestaltbare Welt ein.
Mitte August 2008 wurden von Dan Tudge, Director und Executive Producer des Spiels, auch entsprechende Konsolenportierungen angekündigt. Die eigentlich schon fertige PC-Version wurde entsprechend bis zu deren Fertigstellung kurzerhand auf Ende 2009 verschoben.
