Das erste Gameplay-Video von der E3 2010 hat gezeigt, dass "Rising" auf ein "zan-datsu" (Schneiden und Nehmen) Gameplay-System setzen wird.
Das Spiel wurde unter den neuen Titel "Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance" auf den VGA 2011 mit einem Trailer angekündigt.
Es handelt sich hier um ein Spin-off zur "Metal Gear Solid"-Reihe.
