"Serious Sam HD: The First Encounter" ist ein HD-Remake des gleichnamigen Originals (PC, 2001). Die Neuauflage bietet eine entsprechend verbesserte Grafik und Effektfülle.
Im kooperativen Mehrspielermodus gehen bis zu vier Teilnehmer über Internet an den Start. Im Deathmatch bekriegen sich maximal sechzehn Teilnehmer. Lokale Mehrspielermodi bzw. Split-Screen werden nicht unterstützt.
