Resident Evil: Village (Arbeitstitel) wurde über das Ambassdor-Programm von Capcom als Demo geleakt. Die Demo wurde im Programm Mitte März 2020 gestartet.
Laut diversen Aussagen von Testern fängt der Spiele in einem Dorf an, wo man von dort versucht zu einem Schloss zu gelangen. Im Dorf wird man von Wolf-ähnlichen Monstern angegriffen.
Das Spiel ist ein direkter Nachfolger von Resident Evil 7 und die Story setzt dort ein, wo der letzte Teil aufgehört hat.
Der Protagonisten selber wird aus der Ego-Perspektive gesteuert.
Mit der Entwicklung des Spieles wurde Mitte 2019 gestartet, nachdem das vorherige Projekt zu Resident Evil 8 nach mehrmaligen Neustart eingestellt wurde.
Wurde am 11.06.2020 offiziell mit einem Trailer angekündigt.
