Bei "Heroes of Might and Magic: Quest for the DragonBone Staff" handelt es sich um ein exklusiv für PlayStation 2 entwickeltes Remake von "King's Bounty".
Zu Beginn wählt man einen Helden aus vier verfügbaren Charakteren. Diese sind vorgefertigt: Charaktergenerierung oder sonstige, persönliche Anpassungen sind nicht möglich.
In einer Top-Down-Perspektive wandert man durch karge, ausgestorbene 3D-Landschaften, in denen man Gegenstände sammelt und Monster niedermacht.
Im Kampf wechselt die Perspektive in eine Art 3rd Person-3D-Kamera, die man frei drehen und schwenken kann, um die Kampfherde im Blickfeld zu behalten.
