Die erweiterte PS3-Portierung ist exklusiv nur auf dem japanischen Markt erschienen, da Microsoft für die westlichen Vertriebsgebiete einen zehnjährigen Exklusivvertrag ausgehandelt hat. Damit war es Bandai Namco Games nicht mehr erlaubt, das Spiel offiziell ins Englische zu lokalisieren und/oder außerhalb Japans auf weitere Plattformen zu portieren.
- Der Charakter Flynn, der beim Xbox-Original nur während eines Kampfes temporär dabei war, ist hier ein vollwertiges und dauerhaftes Gruppenmitglied

Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition
Im Jahr 2018 endete der Exklusivvertrag zwischen Microsoft und Bandai Namco Games, der es verbot, "Tales of Vesperia" außerhalb Japans für andere Systeme umzusetzen. Mit der 'Definitive Edition' stehen dem Spiel nun alle Wege offen:
- Audiovisuell überarbeitet mit verbesserter Grafik (Auflösung bis 4k) und neu abgemischter Musik
- Basiert inhaltlich auf der erweiterten PS3-Portierung (siehe PS3)
- Enthält erstmals in einer Version sowohl die englische als auch die japanische Synchronisierung |

"Tales of Vesperia" bietet einen lokalen kooperativen Mehrspielermodus für bis zu vier Teilnehmer. Während Spieler 1 den Hauptcharakter über den gesamten Spielverlaufs steuert, also auf der Weltkarte, in Städten/Geschäften und Dungeons usw., können die restlichen Gruppenmitglieder in den Echtzeitkämpfen von menschlichen Mitspielern gesteuert werden.
